Washington Nationals Pitcher Shawn Hill Sas Successful Surgery on Non-Throwing Left Shoulder
10/12/2007 -- Washington Nationals right-handed pitcher Shawn Hill had successful surgery performed on his non-throwing shoulder by Dr. James Andrews on Thursday in Birmingham, AL.
Dr. Andrews repaired a partially-torn labrum in Hill's left shoulder, an injury sustained on April 20 at Florida while diving back into third base.
Shawn Hill is slated to begin a throwing program in two months and is expected to be ready for Spring Training.

10/10/2007 -- The Washington Nationals today outrighted right-handed pitcher Winston Abreu, left-handed pitcher Mike Bacsik, right-handed pitcher Chris Booker, left-handed pitcher Arnie Munoz and outfielder Brandon Watson to Columbus of the Triple-A International League.
The Washington Nationals also reinstated right-handed pitcher Jason Simontacchi from the 60-Day disabled list and outrighted him to Columbus.

01 October 2007 -- The Philadelphia Phillies have qualified for Major League Baseball playoffs for the first time since 1993, winning their final game of the regular season over the visiting Washington Nationals, 6-1.
The New York Mets could have tied Philadelphia for the National League East Division and forced a one-game playoff, but they lost at home to the Florida Marlins, 8-1. The New York Mets had a seven-game lead in the division as recently as September 12. They finished with seven games at home and won only one of them. » read more »

Ticket windows at Citizens Bank Park opened at 9 a.m. this morning and within 45 minutes, all remaining tickets were sold for the 7 p.m. game tonight, 3:55 p.m. game tomorrow and Fan Appreciation Day on Sunday, 1:35 p.m. start. Sunday was actually sold out in advance of this morning. » read more »

Marques James Seme of Flushing, Queens will take the mound at 7:00 p.m.
