5/22/2008 -- TBS, television’s #1 comedy network, has partnered with Def Jam Recordings and Grammy-nominated singer Chrisette Michele for a promotional campaign designed to tout new episodes of the highly rated sitcom Tyler Perry’s HOUSE OF PAYNE.

As the centerpiece of the campaign, Michele has recorded a new, original song entitled “I Gotta Love Jones for HOUSE OF PAYNE,” which will be featured in on-air spots and other promotional elements. Four new episodes of Tyler Perry’s HOUSE OF PAYNE are slated to air back-to-back Wednesday, June 4, at 9 p.m. (ET/PT).    » read more »

October 18, 2007 -- Tyler Perry's House of Payne, the breakout TBS sitcom hit, is coming to Verizon Wireless V CAST Video phones as a series of short promotional mobisodes. Running approximately 1-3 minutes in length each, the specially produced mobisodes can be found on TBS's Very Funny channel, which launched in late July on V CAST Video service. Tyler Perry's New Movie "Why Did I Get Married" Tops US Weekend Box Office

16 October 2007, Washington (By Ray McDonald) -- Matrimonial moviegoers walked down the aisle in droves last weekend, propelling Tyler Perry's Why Did I Get Married to the top of the U.S. box office list. Lionsgate's ensemble release pulled in $21.5 million, according to October 14 studio estimates.

Perry's comedy-drama outdrew such big-ticket entries as George Clooney's Michael Clayton; Cate Blanchett's Elizabeth: The Golden Age, and the Joaquin Phoenix-Mark Wahlberg crime drama We Own The Night.    » read more »
