Toy Safety Campaign Reveals Improved Compliance But Some Toys Remain On The Shelves Calls On Federal Government To Issue National Recall

December 10, 2007 -- New York Governor Eliot Spitzer today announced that the state Consumer Protection Board’s (CPB) Safe Toys NY Campaign found that toys with unsafe lead levels remain on store shelves across the state. The findings resulted from the Governor’s call for a statewide investigation of toys being sold in New York and revealed retail practices are in need of improvement in order to protect consumers.    » read more »

12-04-2007 -- Recent recalls of toys that could potentially expose children to lead have prompted the Oklahoma State Department of Health (OSDH) to remind shoppers to check and make sure the toys they give this holiday season do not contain lead. Children may be exposed to lead from toys that have been made in other countries and imported into the United States or from antique toys and collectibles passed down through generations.
