Texas Rangers Add Three Players to Roster
09/04/2007, ARLINGTON -- Texas Rangers general manager Jon Daniels announced today the club has recalled OF Freddy Guzman and LHP A.J. Murray from Triple-A Oklahoma, purchased the contract of LHP Bill White from Double-A Frisco and has placed RHP Willie Eyre on the 60-day disabled list (recovering from Tommy John surgery).
Guzman appeared in 133 games for Oklahoma this season and batted .269 with four home runs and 34 RBI. He also had 56 stolen bases (in 70 attempts) which was the most in Triple-A baseball in 2007. » read more »

03 September 2007 (VOA Sports) -- Slugger Hank Blalock hit a go-ahead grand slam in the eighth inning to lead the Texas Rangers to an 8-7 win Sunday over the Los Angeles Angels in a key Major League Baseball contest.
Hank Blalock's fifth career bases-loaded home run gave the Rangers an 8-5 lead. The American League West division-leading Angels pulled to within a run of tying the game in the ninth inning, and had the bases loaded when Garret Anderson struck out looking to end the game. » read more »

02 September 2007 (VOA Sports) -- Rookie Boston Red Sox pitcher Clay Buchholz threw a no-hitter in just his second major league start, giving Boston a 10-0 win over the Baltimore Orioles.
Hours after being called up from the minor leagues Saturday, the 23-year-old Clay Buchholz baffled the Baltimore Oriole batters.
He becomes the 21st rookie ever to toss a no-hitter, and just the third since 1900 to accomplish the feat in his first or second career start. » read more »

09/01/2007, ARLINGTON, Texas -- Texas Rangers general manager Jon Daniels announced today the club has activated INF Hank Blalock from the 60-day disabled list and has recalled RHP Edinson Volquez from Triple-A Oklahoma.

08/30/2007 -- The Office of the Commissioner of Baseball announced today that Texas Rangers Minor League player Matthew West has been suspended for 50 games, effective today, for testing positive for a performance-enhancing substance in violation of the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program.

Pitcher Josh Rupe and infielder Joaquin Arias are the only two players on the 40-man roster scheduled to participate. Rupe has been on the 60-day DL since June 16 sore right elbow. Arias has missed the entire 2007 season while recovering from injuries. » read more »
