10/16/2007, DALLAS -- Texas Rangers pitcher C.J. Wilson and Live 105.3 will host his Video Game Challenge at The Loft inside the Palladium Ballroom in Dallas on Wednesday, Oct. 17 at 6 p.m.

Thirty-two contestants will have the chance to team up and challenge C.J. and his roommate Kameron Loe in a Halo 3 tournament. The final pair of contestants will try their luck at beating the Texas Rangers to win prizes, including autographed merchandise, Rangers tickets and the status as the Halo 3 Champion.    » read more »

09/14/2007, ARLINGTON -- The Texas Rangers announced today that RHP Edinson Volquez has been named their Nolan Ryan Minor League Pitcher of the Year and 3B Chris Davis has been named their Tom Grieve Minor League Player of the Year.

Volquez pitched at the top three levels of the Texas system this season before being recalled by the Rangers on Sept. 1. He had a combined minor league record of 14-6, 3.67 (59 ER/144.2 IP) in 26 starts for Single-A Bakersfield, Double-A Frisco and Triple-A Oklahoma.    » read more »

Armando Galarraga split the 2007 season between Double-A Frisco and Oklahoma. He made 4 appearances and starts at Oklahoma and was 2-2, 4.74. He threw a 7.0 -inning complete game shutout at Nashville on Aug. 25.    » read more »

Texas Rangers Activate Pitcher Brandon McCarthy

Right-hander will start second game of doubleheader today

09/11/2007, ARLINGTON -- Texas Rangers general manager Jon Daniels announced today the club has activated RHP Brandon McCarthy from the 15-day disabled list.

Brandon McCarthy has been on the disabled list since Aug. 11. He has appeared in 20 games (19 starts) for the Texas Rangers this season and is 5-8, 4.79.

He is scheduled to start the second game of today's day-night doubleheader in Detroit.
