10/18/2007, ARLINGTON -- Texas Rangers General Manager Jon Daniels announced today that the club has outrighted C Guillermo Quiroz off of the 40-man roster.
In lieu of accepting the assignment, Quiroz declared his free agency. He appeared in 9 games/2 starts with the Rangers this season and batted .400 (4-10) with a double and 2 RBI.
With this move, the club now has 39 players on its 40-man roster.

Texas Rangers Agree to Terms with Frank Francisco
Pitcher signs one-year deal through 2008 season
10/16/2007, ARLINGTON -- Texas Rangers General Manager Jon Daniels announced today that the club has agreed to a one-year contract with RHP Frank Francisco for 2008. Frank Francisco had been eligible for arbitration.
Frank Francisco went 1-1, 4.55 ERA with 38 walks and 49 strikeouts this season for Texas. He appeared in a career-high 59 games.
Acquired by Texas on July 24, 2003, Frank Francisco has a career record of 6-3, 4.04 ERA with 68 walks and 115 strikeouts in 112 major league appearances.
