Next Deadline To Register For Indiana’s Do Not Call List Is Tuesday, August 21

August 13, 2007 -- INDIANAPOLIS, IN - Tuesday, August 21 is the next deadline to register for the state’s Do Not Call list announced Indiana Attorney General Steve Carter. Phone numbers placed on the list by midnight EDT Tuesday will begin receiving benefits of the law starting October 1, 2007.

There are currently more than 1.8 million phone numbers registered on the Do Not Call list.

Reregistering is not necessary if you retain the same phone number. The law currently benefits more than 3.5 million people.

Michigan AG Cox and AARP Announce Savings in Telephone Rate Case

August 6, 2007 -- LANSING - Michigan Attorney General Mike Cox and AARP's Associate State Director for Government Affairs, Bill Knox, today announced a settlement agreement in a Verizon telephone rate case. This agreement will result in Verizon lowering its low-cost, no-frills Call Plan 100 or Value Pak 100 plan by 80¢ a month and freezing the rate until July 1, 2009. 30 June 2007 -- Customers across the United States waited in line for hours, or even days, to be the first buyers of computer maker Apple's coveted new iPhone.

The sleek phone, which went on sale Friday, is also a music and video player and it allows owners to store photos and access the Internet. It costs $500 for the basic version or $600 for one with twice the memory.

The cost for phone service is at least $59 a month.
