Sweden: United States Terminates Estate and Gift Tax Treaty with Sweden

June 15, 2007 -- Washington, D.C.--The Treasury Department today announced that on June 7, 2007 the United States delivered to the Government of Sweden a notice of termination of the tax treaty between the two countries with respect to estates, inheritances, and gifts.

In accordance with the provisions of the treaty, the notice of termination provides that the treaty will cease to have effect as of January 1, 2008.

At the time the treaty was signed, Sweden maintained a tax on inheritances and gifts.    » read more »

Senate Bill 58

State Senator Kevin Coughlin sponsored Senate Bill 58 that will allow pharmacists to administer certain immunizations. Coughlin's bill was the companion bill to state Representative John Adams' House Bill 73.

Senate Bill 20

State Senator Patricia Clancy sponsored Senate Bill 20 that will increase the adoption tax credit from $500 to $1500. Clancy's bill was the companion bill to state Representative Danny Bubp's House Bill 70.

May 31, 2007 -- Colorado Governor Ritter signs more than 40 bills as Monday deadline approaches At separate ceremonies in Lakewood and Fort Collins, Gov. Bill Ritter today signed into law bills that will enhance health care for children, make Colorado universities more competitive for national research grants, and provide a tax break to high-tech companies that build “clean rooms.”
