PETERSBURG -- The Tampa Bay Devil Rays have exercised the option on the contract of veteran right-handed pitcher Al Reyes for the 2008 season and declined the option on the contract of outfielder Greg Norton. 11/02/2007, ST. PETERSBURG -- The Tampa Bay Devil Rays announced right-handed pitcher Shawn Camp and infielder Jorge Velandia have rejected outright assignments to Durham (AAA), making them free agents.
Shawn Camp, 30, split last season between the Rays and Durham. He went 0-3 with a 7.20 ERA in 50 appearances for the Rays and 0-1 with four saves and a 1.17 ERA over 12 outings for the Bulls. » read more »
Tampa Bay Devil Rays Retain Jim Hickey as Pitching Coach
11/01/2007, ST. PETERSBURG -- Jim Hickey will return as the pitching coach of the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. Hickey and the team agreed to a one-year contract completing the Rays coaching staff for 2008.
Hickey pleaded no contest on October 29 to charges of driving under the influence and leaving the scene of an accident. In addition to the court mandated 50 hours of community service which he has already completed, Hickey will perform additional community service under the direction of the team. » read more »

10/10/2007, ST. PETERSBURG -- The Tampa Bay Devil Rays Rays will host the Chicago Cubs at Tropicana Field for the first time, June 17-19, according to the 2008 Major League Baseball schedule released today. The schedule is subject to change.
The Rays will open their 11th season at Baltimore on Monday, March 31. After a three-game series with the Orioles and a four-game set at New York, the Rays will return to Tropicana Field to play the Seattle Mariners in their home opener on Tuesday, April 8. » read more »
