Fund will Help Preserve Baxter State Park for Future Generations
August 23, 2007 -- AUGUSTA - Maine Governor John E. Baldacci today formally accepted a generous gift of funding that will help to preserve the quality and character of Baxter State Park for generations to come. The donor, Frank Trautmann, requested that the gift be placed in a new trust, The Baxter Park Wilderness Fund.

August 21, 2007 -- FRANKFORT, Ky. – Anyone looking for something to do on Labor Day Weekend can count on the Kentucky State Parks. Many special events and activities are planned for the holiday weekend throughout the park system.

Pioneer Museum Renovation Highlights History of Blue Licks Battlefield State Resort Park in Kentucky
MOUNT OLIVET, Ky., Monday, July 30, 2007 – Visitors to the Pioneer Museum at Blue Licks Battlefield State Resort Park will soon get a better idea of what the area was like when mastodon, bison, Native Americans and pioneers lived in the area.
The museum, built during the Depression, has undergone a $150,000 renovation with improved exhibits and a detailed interpretation of the 1782 Battle of Blue Licks, the last Revolutionary War battle fought in Kentucky. » read more »

June 17, 2007 -- Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty today announced a proposal to create a new 2,500-acre state park on Lake Vermilion in northern Minnesota. It would be Minnesota’s first new major state park in almost 30 years.

July 13, 2007 -- Oakwood — Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan joined with officials of the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR), environmental advocacy organizations and representatives of Dynegy, Inc., today to announce the State of Illinois’ recent acquisition of scenic property along the Middle Fork of the Vermilion River.
