August 16, 2007 -- SEDALIA - Missouri Governor Matt Blunt, First Lady Melanie Blunt and their son William Branch joined with Missourians in celebrating Missouri agriculture at the Missouri State Fair.

August 13, 2007 -- SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – Grand Funk Railroad has canceled its appearance at the 2007 Illinois State Fair. The 70s rock band was supposed to open the Joe Walsh concert Saturday, Aug. 18, but will not be able to perform because of a scheduling conflict.

Joe Walsh is still scheduled to perform at 8 p.m. Saturday in the Grandstand, and will be joined by J. D. and the Straight Shot.

August 12, 2007 -- SPRINGFIELD, Ill. -- Despite blazing heat, a sizable crowd gathered for this year’s renditions of two of the Illinois State Fair’s most unique events: the hog and husband calling contests.

Several agencies join forces to educate parents on proper safety seat use to keep kids safe

August 11, 2007 -- SPRINGFIELD – Illinois Governor Rod R. Blagojevich announced today that state, corporate and community leaders are teaming up to promote the proper use of child safety seats during a large-scale Child Seat Safety Check at the Illinois State Fair. In 2003, the Governor signed a law requiring all children up to age eight to be properly secured in a safety seat.    » read more »
