St. Louis Cardinals Statement on Mark Mulder Shoulder Testing

09/19/2007, ST. LOUIS -- St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Mark Mulder underwent additional testing of his left shoulder including an MRI scan. The MRI revealed complete healing of the labrum but only partial healing of the rotator cuff.

After consultation with the original treating physician, Dr. David Altchek of the New York Mets, and evaluation by St. Louis Cardinals' team physician Dr. George Paletta, a consensus recommendation was made for arthroscopy of the shoulder with probable rotator cuff debridement.    » read more »

09/10/2007, CHICAGO -- The Chicago Cubs today set a club record by reaching three millions fans at Wrigley Field faster than any other season in franchise history. Today's contest is the 75th home date of 2007, surpassing the previous record of 77 home dates to three million fans in 2004 and 2006.

Rolen underwent surgery today in Cincinnati for the removal of scar tissue and a bursectomy and a manipulation of his left (non-throwing) shoulder while under anesthesia.
