Space Shuttle Endeavour To Move To Pad, Crew Ready For Countdown Test
July 6, 2007 -- CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. -- NASA's space shuttle Endeavour is targeted to roll out to Launch Pad 39A at NASA's Kennedy Space Center, Fla., on Tuesday, July 10, as preparations for the STS-118 mission continue. First motion of Endeavour is scheduled for 12:01 a.m. EDT. After rollout, the next milestone will be a July 16-19 dress rehearsal of launch, which includes a practice countdown. Endeavour is targeted to lift off Aug. 7 on an 11-day mission to the International Space Station. » read more »

Air Guard Ready To Help During Space Shuttle Missions
ARLINGTON, Va. (6/26/2007) – As NASA's Space Shuttle Atlantis landed June 22 at Edwards Air Force Base, Calif., Air National Guard members looked back to its launch two weeks earlier knowing they were ready to help. They were relieved that they didn’t have to.

Space Shuttle Atlantis arrives at Edwards Air Force Base
6/22/2007 - Space Shuttle Atlantis, STS-117, performed a successful landing at Edwards Air Force Base, Calif., on June 22.
The shuttle started its mission June 8 to perform maintenance on the International Space Station. STS-117 was the 21st mission to the space station and the 118th shuttle mission overall.
The Atlantis landing marks Edwards' 51st shuttle landing.
The next shuttle mission is scheduled to launch in August.

NASA Shuttle Engine Upgrades Improve Safety and Reliability
June 5, 2007 -- HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - A main engine computer upgrade developed by NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Ala., will fly on space shuttle Atlantis during the STS-117 mission, targeted for launch June 8. The upgrade is part of NASA's continuing efforts to improve space shuttle safety and reliability.
The Advanced Health Management System, or AHMS, will provide new monitoring and insight into the performance of the two most critical components of the space shuttle main engine: the high-pressure fuel turbopump and the high-pressure oxidizer turbopump. » read more »

Train Carrying Space Shuttle Parts Derails in Alabama
02 May 2007 -- A train carrying parts for U.S. space shuttles derailed Wednesday when a bridge collapsed, but space agency officials say the accident will not delay the next shuttle launch.
NASA says the accident took place in the southeastern state of Alabama, as the train carried segments of solid rocket boosters from their manufacturer in Utah to Cape Canaveral in Florida. At least two people were injured in the incident and were taken to hospitals. » read more »

April 16, 2007 -- HOUSTON - During a meeting Monday at NASA's Johnson Space Center, agency officials revised the target launch dates for space shuttle flights during the next 12 months.
