Walter Kaitz Foundation Raises $1.7 Million for Diversity Programs
9/20/2007, WASHINGTON , D.C. – At its 24th annual fund-raising dinner in New York City last night, the Walter Kaitz Foundation raised more than $1.7 million for programs promoting diversity in the cable industry.
More than 1,300 cable industry executives attended the dinner, where U.S. Rep. Edolphus Towns (D-NY) and ESPN were honored. The amount of money raised by the cable industry in support of the Kaitz Foundation exceeded last year’s total by more than $200,000. » read more »

09 September 2007 -- World number one women's tennis player Justine Henin of Belgium has crushed Russian Svetlana Kuznetsova to win the U.S. Open championship in New York.
The top-seeded Justine Henin earned her second U.S. Open title and seventh grand-slam crown with a 6-1, 6-3 victory late Saturday over the fourth seeded Svetlana Kuznetsova - the 2004 champion.
The Belgian now has a 15-2 record all time against the Russian.

18 May 2007 -- Australian Open tennis champion Serena Williams of the United States has been knocked out of the Italian Open women's clay court tournament in Rome.
Williams lost a hard-fought, three-set quarterfinal match to Switzerland's Patty Schnyder in a third-set tiebreaker 6-3, 2-6, 7-6. The win is only the second time in eight meetings that the Swiss player has beaten Williams.
In the semifinals, Schnyder will take on Serbian Jelena Jankovic, the world number-five player, who easily advanced with a 6-2, 6-1 win Friday over Elena Dementieva of Russia. » read more »
