Serbia: Serbian War Crimes Suspect Arrested in Montenegro

17 June 2007 -- A fugitive Serb general indicted for crimes against humanity in Kosovo in the 1990s has been arrested and is on his way to the war crimes tribunal in The Hague.

Authorities say Vlastimir Djordjevic - Serbia's assistant interior minister and a close aide to former Serbian President Slobodan Milosevic - was arrested Sunday by Montenegro police. A spokesman for the tribunal for the former Yugoslavia said the arrest came with Serbia's help.    » read more »
