Anton Guitano Named Senior Executive Vice President of Finance and Operations and CFO, CBS Radio

11.29.2007 -- Anton Guitano has been named Senior Executive Vice President of Finance and Operations, and Chief Financial Officer of CBS RADIO, it was announced today by Dan Mason, President and CEO, CBS RADIO. Guitano most recently served as Executive Vice President of Operations and Chief Financial Officer of the CBS Television Stations Group and is a veteran of the Company for almost three decades. He will be responsible for establishing the financial strategy and direction of the division and overseeing all of CBS RADIO’s financial functions at the local station and corporate level.    » read more »

CBS Corporation Completes Sale of Radio Stations to Entercom

11.30.2007 -- CBS Corporation (NYSE: CBS and CBS.A) today announced that it has completed the previously announced sale of its radio stations in four markets to Entercom Communications Corp. for $262 million in cash.

In May of 2006, CBS Corporation announced its intention to explore the divestiture of radio stations in ten of its smaller markets. With the closure of the Entercom stations, the Company has now completed all of its previously announced radio station sales.

11/15/2007 -- (COLUMBIA) – Senator Hillary Clinton launched her third radio spot, entitled “Veterans,” today in South Carolina. The 60-second spot began playing on radio stations across the state this morning.

The spot focuses on Hillary’s record of fighting for America’s veterans, specifically referencing her work to expand the Tri Care program to ensure that all Guard and Reserve members and their families have health benefits as well as her plan to fully fund the VA as President.

Somalia: Somalia Government Closes Two More Radio Stations

13 November 2007 -- Government authorities in Somalia on Tuesday ordered two more radio stations off the air, a day after shutting the popular Radio Shabelle station. The closures follow a surge in violence in Mogadishu as Ethiopian troops backing the government battle Islamist-led insurgents.

The closure of Radio Simba and Radio Banadir on Tuesday, and of Radio Shabelle a day earlier, has prompted outcries from local and international press groups.    » read more »
