DoD Identifies Army Casualty: Sgt. Ricardo X. Rodriguez, 23, of Arecibo, Puerto Rico
October 05, 2007 -- The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Sgt. Ricardo X. Rodriguez, 23, of Arecibo, Puerto Rico, died Oct. 4 near Bayji, Iraq, of wounds suffered when an improvised explosive device detonated near his unit during combat operations.
He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 325th Airborne Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, N.C.

August 05, 2007 -- The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Master Sgt. Julian Ingles Rios, 52, of Anasco, Puerto Rico, died Aug. 2 in Baghdad when his HMMWV was struck by a rocket-propelled grenade.
He was assigned to the 130th Engineer Battalion, of the Puerto Rico National Guard, at Aguadilla, Puerto Rico.

July 31, 2007 -- The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Staff Sgt. Wilberto Suliveras, 38, of Humacao, Puerto Rico, died July 29 in Taji, Iraq, of wounds suffered from enemy small arms fire.
He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas.

Capt. Maria I. Ortiz, 40, of Bayamon, Puerto Rico, died July 10 in Baghdad, Iraq, of wounds suffered from enemy indirect fire.
She was assigned to the Kirk U.S. Army Health Clinic, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Md.
