Macmillan Names New CEO

October 4, 2007 -- Annette Thomas, currently Managing Director of the Nature Publishing Group (NPG), has been appointed CEO of Macmillan Ltd with immediate effect, following the departure of Richard Charkin.

Annette will have the same structural responsibilities as Richard did and will therefore report to Stefan von Holtzbrinck, CEO of Holtzbrinck Group, Macmillan’s parent company. John Sargent will continue to be responsible for the US operation, reporting to Stefan.    » read more »

Richard Charkin Moves On After Ten Years At Macmillan

26 September 2007 -- Macmillan announced today that Richard Charkin will leave his post as CEO after exactly ten years with the company. He will take up a new position as Executive Director of Bloomsbury plc on Monday 1 October 2007.

Jack Romanos to Retire as President and CEO of Simon & Schuster

09.06.2007 -- Jack Romanos, President and Chief Executive Officer of Simon & Schuster, Inc., announced today that he will retire from that post, effective Dec. 31, 2007. Romanos will continue to serve in an advisory capacity to CBS Corporation President and CEO Leslie Moonves through 2009.

Carolyn K. Reidy, currently President of Simon & Schuster’s Adult Publishing Division, will assume the role of President and Chief Executive Officer upon Romanos’ retirement.    » read more »
