June 3, 2008 -- After receiving the preliminary report of the New York State Commission on Property Tax Relief, New York Governor David A. Paterson announced today that he is accepting the Commission’s principal recommendation and plans to introduce school property tax cap legislation to address the unsustainable growth in property taxes.

The cap would apply to all school districts outside the “Big Five” cities (New York City, Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse and Yonkers).    » read more »

Wyoming Governor’s Comments On Property Tax Relief, GE Partnership And Other Legislation

CHEYENNE - The Wyoming Legislature needs to act to provide property tax relief to Wyoming seniors, Governor Dave Freudenthal said today in a news conference.

The program doesn’t necessarily have to be the one that Freudenthal proposed, but he said long-time Wyoming residents who want to live out their golden years in their homes need help.

2/6/2008 -- (HELENA) – Montana Governor Brian Schweitzer today announced that nearly $95 million dollars has gone back to 235,460 Montana households in the form of the $400 homeowner property tax refund since the program began on August 27.
