Enbridge Announces Second North Dakota Pipeline Expansion

11/1/2007 -- (HELENA) - Montana Governor Brian Schweitzer today said he is pleased with the announcement this week by Enbridge Energy Partners that the company will proceed with its second expansion of its North Dakota Pipeline System.

Governor Schweitzer met with Enbridge on Tuesday in Calgary and discussed the need for pipeline expansion with them. Montana is one of only two states in the nation to increase oil production in the last year.    » read more »

Louisiana Attorney General's Office Sends Letter to Environmental Protection Agency Regarding El Dorado Pipeline

October 11, 2007: (Baton Rouge, LA) — Louisiana Attorney General Charles C. Foti, Jr. has sent a letter to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in full support of the recent request by the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality for the EPA to withdraw support for, and indeed formally object to, the recent issuance of a permit by the Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ). This permit authorizes the discharge of waste water into the Ouachita River in Arkansas, just north of the Louisiana state line.    » read more »

Governor Spitzer Signs Pipeline Security Measures into Law

September 10, 2007 -- New York Governor Eliot Spitzer announced today that he has signed into law legislation that will enhance security procedures associated with pipelines and fueling networks that are currently vulnerable to attack. The legislation specifically addresses potential weaknesses in fueling networks servicing cities, airports, transmission systems and distribution points for petroleum, natural gas, and commercial aviation fuel.    » read more »
