June 17, 2008 -- ESPN’s coverage of the 2008 U.S. Open playoff on Monday from noon-2 p.m. ET was the most-viewed golf telecast in cable TV history (4.2 household rating, 4,055,000 household impressions, 4,762,000 viewers). Tiger Woods defeated Rocco Mediate in a sudden playoff at Torrey Pines. ESPN aired the first two hours of the playoff, which went into sudden death. 09 September 2007 -- World number one golfer Tiger Woods of the United States matched the lowest final round of his career to win the BMW Championship outside Chicago.

Tiger Woods shot an 8 under par 63 Sunday, giving him a two-shot victory over Australian Aaron Baddeley and four ahead of third-placed compatriot Steve Stricker. Tiger Woods Wins PGA Championship by 2 Strokes

13 August 2007 (By VOA Sports) -- World No. 1 golfer Tiger Woods has captured his 13th career major title and first of the year at the 89th PGA Championship in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Tiger Woods began the final round ahead by three shots. While a number of players made mild attempts to close the gap, Woods held steady at the top of the leaderboard in sweltering heat. He carded a one-under-par 69 to finish at eight-under-par 272.

Tiger Woods appeared to tweak his left knee while celebrating a long putt on the eighth hole. It proved not to be a factor.    » read more »
