Tampa Bay Devil Rays Host Cleveland, Boston and Oakland During the Longest Homestand of the Season
08/16/2007, ST. PETERSBURG -- The Tampa Bay Devil Rays open a ten-game homestand Friday, Aug. 17 against the Cleveland Indians. This will be the longest homestand of the season, as they will be home through Aug. 26. The Tampa Bay Devil Rays will also be hosting the Boston Red Sox for the second of three visits and the Oakland Athletics also stop by for their first and only stint at Tropicana Field. Baseball Tomorrow Fund Equipment Drive: The Oakland A's are teaming up with the Baseball Tomorrow Fund to host an equipment collection drive on Friday, Aug. 17 for A's vs. Royals game. Fans are invited to donate new and used equipment at Gates C and D of McAfee Coliseum, which will benefit the Oakland Babe Ruth Little League. In addition, the Baseball Tomorrow Fund will award a grant of $5,000 to Oakland Babe Ruth Little League for the purchase of new equipment prior to the A's game on Wednesday, Aug. 15. » read more »

Detroit Tigers Saturday game against Oakland Athletics will begin at 7:05 p.m.
08/09/2007, DETROIT -- The Detroit Tigers will honor the contributions Latinos have made to the game of baseball this Saturday when the club plays host to the Oakland Athletics at 7:05 p.m. at Comerica Park.
The Saturday contest was originally on the schedule at 3:55 p.m. and was to be televised by the FOX Network. However, the Tigers were notified last week that the game had been dropped from the FOX schedule. By moving to 7:05, the game will now be televised locally on FSN Detroit. » read more »

Joe Kennedy, 28, is 3-9 with a 4.37 ERA (49 ER in 101.0 IP) over 27 games (16 starts) with the A's. He is 42-61 with a 4.75 ERA (474 ER in 899.0 IP) in 210 career games (139 starts) in parts of seven Major League seasons. » read more »

01 July 2007 -- In Major League Baseball, Oakland pitchers Chad Gaudin and Rich Harden combined for a one-hitter, leading the Athletics to a 7-0 win over the lethargic New York Yankees.
Gaudin gave up a single in the sixth inning Saturday, while his Oakland teammates hit three home runs off Yankee pitcher Kei Igawa.
