Oakland A's Colby Lewis Claimed Off Waivers by Kansas City Royals
11/02/2007, OAKLAND, Calif. -- The Oakland A's today announced that right-handed pitcher Colby Lewis was claimed off waivers by the Kansas City Royals.
Colby Lewis split his season between Oakland and Triple-A Sacramento and was 0-2 with a 6.45 ERA in 26 games, one start, in two stints with the A's. He also posted an 8-3 record and a 1.88 ERA in 15 starts with the River Cats. The 28-year old Colby Lewis is now 12-15 with a 6.71 ERA in 72 outings in his Major League career, which also includes stops in Texas (2002-04) and Detroit (2006).

09/24/2007, BOSTON -- The Oakland Athletics announced today the club has picked up the options on the contracts of manager Bob Geren and second baseman Mark Ellis for the 2009 and 2008 seasons, respectively.
Bob Geren, 46, was named the 28th manager in franchise history and 17th in Oakland history on November 17, 2006 after serving on the A's coaching staff since the 2003 campaign.
