San Francisco Giants Set 2008 MLB Opening Day Roster
SAN FRANCISCO, 03/30/2008 -- The San Francisco Giants made a number of roster moves prior to today's exhibition contest against the Oakland Athletics to set the Opening Day roster for their 126th National League campaign, club Senior Vice President and General Manager Brian Sabean announced today.
The San Francisco Giants made the following transactions to reach their final 25-man roster:
• Optioned catcher Eliezer Alfonzo to triple-A Fresno following yesterday's contest.
• Designated left-handed pitcher Steve Kline for assignment.
• Reassigned right-handed pitcher Bartolome Fortunato and infielder Justin Leone to minor league camp.
• Placed right-handed pitcher Vinnie Chulk on the 15-day Disabled List, retroactive to March 21, with a right shoulder strain. » read more »

03/29/2008, OAKLAND -- The Oakland A's today optioned left-handed pitcher Dallas Braden and outfielders Jeff Fiorentino and Carlos Gonzalez to Triple-A Sacramento.
The Oakland A's now have a total of 28 players in camp, which includes 25 players on the 40-man roster and three non-roster invitees. The breakdown includes:
- 11 pitchers,
- three catchers,
- eight infielders, and
- six outfielders.
