Rookie Boston Red Sox Pitcher Clay Buchholz Tosses No-Hitter

02 September 2007 (VOA Sports) -- Rookie Boston Red Sox pitcher Clay Buchholz threw a no-hitter in just his second major league start, giving Boston a 10-0 win over the Baltimore Orioles.

Hours after being called up from the minor leagues Saturday, the 23-year-old Clay Buchholz baffled the Baltimore Oriole batters.

He becomes the 21st rookie ever to toss a no-hitter, and just the third since 1900 to accomplish the feat in his first or second career start.    » read more »

08/31/2007, NEW YORK -- The New York Yankees announced today that the start time for their Sept. 24 game vs. the Toronto Blue Jays at Yankee Stadium has been changed from 7:05 p.m. to 1:05 p.m.

The Sept. 24 game is a rescheduling of the April 25 game between the Yankees and Toronto Blue Jays at Yankee Stadium -- which was postponed due to rain.    » read more »

New York Yankees Joba Chamberlain Disciplined

08/31/2007 -- New York Yankees pitcher Joba Chamberlain has been suspended for two games and fined an undisclosed amount for his inappropriate actions during the top of the ninth inning of yesterday's New York Yankees game against the Boston Red Sox at Yankee Stadium. Bob Watson, Vice President of On-Field Operations for Major League Baseball, made the announcement.

Joba Chamberlain will begin to serve his suspension tonight, when the New York Yankees host the Tampa Bay Devil Rays.
