11/02/2007 -- The New York Yankees announced today that they have exercised their 2008 club option on the contract of outfielder Bobby Abreu.
The 33-year-old Abreu batted .283 (171-for-605) with 40 doubles, 16 home runs, 101 RBI and 25 stolen bases in 158 games with the Yankees in 2007. He scored a career-high 123 runs to rank second in the American League, and his 90 hits with two strikes led the Majors.
