09/05/2007, COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Columbus Crew remains at home this weekend, when it will play host to the Eastern Conference-rival Chicago Fire Saturday (Sept. 8) at Crew Stadium. Columbus (6-7-10, 28 pts.) is coming off a 1-1 draw vs. Colorado Rapids on Sunday, which kept those two teams tied for the eighth playoff position. 09/04/2007, Washington, D.C. -- Major League Soccer announced today United's Ben Olsen has been named MLS Player of the Week following his two-goal performance against FC Dallas on Saturday. The midfielder scored two first half goals, as United stormed to a 4-0 victory over its Western Conference foe. It is the second time this year Olsen has earned the weekly honor. He previously won following his first career hat trick in D.C. United's 4-2 win over the New York Red Bulls on June 10.    » read more »

09/02/2007, EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ - Behind a Mike Magee first half goal, the New York Red Bulls reserves defeated the Chicago Fire reserves, 1-0, at Giants Stadium on Sunday morning. Goalkeeper Danny Cepero helped preserve the shutout, saving a second half stoppage time penalty kick. The Red Bulls reserves improved to 4-2-0 while Chicago is 0-5-2.

The New York Red Bulls had the first scoring chance of the match in the 8th minute when Sinisa Ubiparipovic took a cross field pass on the left wing and raced into the box before putting in a shot that was pushed out of play.    » read more »
