Detroit Tigers Trounce Minnesota Twins 6-4

17 September 2007-- The Detroit Tigers gained ground in the American League Central division race with a 6-4 win over the Minnesota Twins in Sunday night Major League Baseball action. The Detroit Tigers are now within four-and-a-half games of first place Cleveland in the division. The Tigers and Indians begin a crucial three-game series Monday.

08/31/2007 -- The New York Mets announced today that prior to tomorrow's game against Atlanta, they will recall righthanded pitchers Mike Pelfrey and Philip Humber and select the contract of lefthanded pitcher Willie Collazo from New Orleans (AAA) of the Pacific Coast League.

Pelfrey will wear uniform #34, Humber will wear #49 and Collazo will don #36.

Pelfrey, 23, went 3-6 with a 4.01 ERA in 14 starts this season for New Orleans (AAA). In 74.0 innings, he allowed 74 hits, 35 runs, 33 earned, with 26 walks and 56 strikeouts.    » read more »
