• With large crowds expected and on-going construction on the downtown connector, fans heading out to Turner Field this week for the Braves first homestand of the year are encouraged to arrive early or consider taking Marta.
• Turner Field parking maps can be found at braves.com/parking along with detailed directions, parking and traffic information.
• On Opening Night, the Green, Blue, Orange, and Gold lots will be PERMIT ONLY parking. If fans do not have a permit, please park in the official Braves (Grey, Brown, Red and Yellow) lots located west of the Interstate along Central Avenue. » read more »

• Opening Night at Turner Field - Pre-game ceremonies beginning at 6:30 p.m. will feature a video tribute to the Braves storied franchise, the longest continuously operating franchise in Major League Baseball. After full squad introductions, recording star Diana DeGarmo will sing the National Anthem and pilots from Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base, New Orleans will perform a fly over in F-18 Hornets.
• Nationally touring country band Whiskey Falls will perform their song "Load up the Bases", written for the Braves 2008 season, pre-game in Fan Plaza, and will sing God Bless America during the seventh inning stretch. » read more »

02/12/2008, FLUSHING -- The New York Mets announced today they have signed infielder Olmedo Saenz as a six-year minor league free agent and invited him to Major League spring training. Olmedo Saenz, one of the most productive pinch hitters in the big leagues over the last four years, is a career .256 hitter (72-for-281) off the bench with 12 home runs and 58 RBI.
Olmedo Saenz, a 37-year-old righthanded hitter, was with the Los Angeles Dodgers the last four years. In 2007, he tied for fourth in the majors with 14 pinch hits (14-for-63, .222) and also had two home runs and 12 RBI. » read more »

01/30/2008, OAKLAND -- The Oakland A's today announced that right-handed pitcher Ruddy Lugo was claimed off waivers by the New York Mets.
Ruddy Lugo was designated for assignment last Friday after the Oakland A's claimed outfielder Jeff Fiorentino off waivers from the Cincinnati Reds. He went 4-0 with a 4.30 ERA in 27 games over three stints with Oakland in 2007 and also had two wins and a 9.28 ERA in 11 games with Tampa Bay.
Ruddy Lugo combined for a 6-0 record and a 5.40 ERA in 38 relief appearances overall. He walked 37 and struck out 34 in 48.1 innings.

Daktronics to Provide Video Display at Citi Field
01/28/2008, FLUSHING, N.Y. -- The New York Mets and Daktronics (NASDAQ-DAKT) today announced that Daktronics will provide nearly 12,000 square feet of integrated scoring and video display technology at Citi Field, the new home of the Mets opening in 2009. Installation of the multi-million dollar system will begin this spring and is expected to be substantially complete by August 2008.
