Involvement includes watch party for Saturday match versus Chivas USA

09/18/2007 -- The Kansas City Wizards will be feature sponsors of the 24th annual Fiesta Hispana, held at Barney Allis Plaza in downtown Kansas City Saturday and Sunday September 22-23. The Wizards will have a presence from noon - 9 p.m. both evenings with an information and merchandise booth complete with Wizards gear and giveaway items. A watch party will be held at 9:30 p.m. on Saturday as the Wizards travel to face Chivas USA in Los Angeles.    » read more »

Toronto FC Transfer Andy Welsh to Blackpool

09/06/2007 -- Toronto FC announced Thursday that they have sent midfielder Andy Welsh to English Championship club Blackpool on a free transfer.

Welsh, 24, joined Toronto FC just prior to the 2007 season, coming over from English Premiership club Sunderland.

"We found a way of getting him back over to England, and it worked out for both camps," said Head Coach Mo Johnston, "he's happy and we're happy. It's always sad to see a younger kid leave."    » read more »

09/05/2007 -- Kansas City Wizards holding midfielder Kerry Zavagnin has been called in by United States National Team Head Coach Bob Bradley as a roster replacement for Colorado Rapids midfielder Pablo Mastroeni for an upcoming friendly against international power Brazil Sunday, September 9 at Soldier Field in Chicago. Zavagnin has appeared 21 times for the Red, White and Blue. 09/05/2007 -- Toronto FC announced Wednesday that 3 of their players have been called up to Canada's National Team. Canada will face Costa Rica Wednesday September 12th in a friendly at BMO Field.

Captain and midfielder Jim Brennan, midfielder/defender Chris Pozniak, and goalkeeper Kenny Stamatopoulos were all named to the Canadian squad named by Head Coach Dale Mitchell.

United Soccer Club Kicks-Off Fall Season

WASHINGTON, DC (September 4, 2007) - D.C. United and its non-profit arm, United for D.C., announced today plans for the Fall 2007 session of United Soccer Club. The original program, based at Barry Farm Parks and Recreation Center, will begin its fourth season with expansion to a third site at Ketcham Elementary School in Southeast D.C.
