Minnesota Twins establish new mark for average game attendance at Hammond Stadium
MINNEAPOLIS- ST. PAUL, 03/28/2008 -- The Minnesota Twins announced today that the club has established a new single-season Spring Training record for average attendance for games played at Hammond Stadium.
As the Minnesota Twins concluded their home schedule today (Friday, March 28) versus the Pittsburgh Pirates, the team's 2008 Grapefruit League attendance total reached 124,934 fans with 14 of 16 games sold out. Based on a total of 16 home dates, the Twins averaged 7,808 fans per home Spring Training game topping the previous average game attendance mark of 7,620 established in 2007. » read more »
Minnesota Twins Option Francisco Liriano to Single-A Fort Myers
FORT MYERS, 03/28/2008 -- The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have optioned left-handed pitcher Francisco Liriano to Single-A Ft. Myers. Liriano is scheduled to start for the Miracle on Thursday night at Hammond Stadium. In five starts for the Minnesota Twins this spring, Liriano was 2-2, 4.02 ERA (15.2 ip, 7 er), allowing 14 hits with nine walks and 15 strikeouts.
The Minnesota Twins now have 27 (two non-roster) players in camp: 12 pitchers, three catchers (one non-roster), six infielders, six outfielders (one non-roster). Catcher Eli Whiteside and outfielder Jon Knott will be reassigned to minor league camp following tomorrow's game in Bradenton vs. the Pirates.

As of today, only a limited number of obstructed view tickets remain for the Twins 48th annual home opener. 03/26/2008, FORT MYERS -- The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have reassigned catcher Drew Butera to Minor League camp.
Drew Butera batted .176 (3-for-17) with two RBI in 11 spring games with the Twins.
The Minnesota Twins now have 28 (two non-roster) players in camp:
- 13 pitchers,
- three catchers (one non-roster),
- six infielders, and
- six outfielders (one non-roster).

Ft. Myers, FL, 03/24/2008 -- The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have optioned right-handed pitcher Philip Humber, infielder Brian Buscher and outfielders Jason Pridie and Denard Span to Triple-A Rochester.
In addition, the Minnesota Twins reassigned right-handed pitcher Casey Daigle to Minor League camp.
The Minnesota Twins now have 29 (3 non-roster) players in camp: 13 pitchers, four catchers (two non-roster), six infielders, six outfielders (one non-roster).
