Chicago White Sox Announce Tentative 2008 Regular-Season Home Baseball Schedule

09/26/2007, CHICAGO -- The Chicago White Sox have announced the club's 2008 regular-season home schedule, with the White Sox opening their 18th season at U.S. Cellular Field against the Minnesota Twins (April 7, 9 and 10).

The White Sox are scheduled to face Colorado (June 13-15) and Pittsburgh (June 17-19) at U.S. Cellular Field in interleague play. It marks the first time the Rockies and Sox play in Chicago. The Sox host the New York Yankees (April 22-24) and the Boston Red Sox (Aug. 8-11).    » read more »

Minnesota Twins Minor Leaguer Eli Tintor Suspended

09/24/2007 -- The Office of the Commissioner of Major League Baseball announced today that Minnesota Twins Minor League player Eli Tintor has received a 50-game suspension for testing positive for a drug of abuse in violation of the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program.

The suspension will take effect at the start of the 2008 baseball season.

This season, Eli Tintor played for Single-A Beloit of the Midwest League.

At the close of Sunday, September 23rd, the total attendance for 2007 is 76,215,082, eclipsing last year's final attendance of 76,042,787. 09/23/2007 -- 2,745,207 fans attended games at Turner Field in 2007 setting the Atlanta Braves highest attendance mark since 2001 (2,823,494). New York Mets' Marlon Anderson Disciplined by Major League Baseball

09/18/2007 -- Marlon Anderson of the New York Mets has been suspended for two games and fined an undisclosed amount for his inappropriate actions during the bottom of the ninth inning of Saturday's game against the Philadelphia Phillies at Shea Stadium. Bob Watson, Vice President of On-Field Operations for Major League Baseball, made the announcement.

Unless appealed, Marlon Anderson's suspension is scheduled to begin tonight, when the New York Mets play at Washington. If appealed, the suspension will be held in abeyance until the process is complete.
