Delaware Gov. Markell Signs Sports Lottery Legislation Into Law
May 14, 2009 -- WILMINGTON – Delaware Governor Jack Markell signed legislation Thursday that would reactivate a sports lottery in Delaware and bring the state more than $50 million closer to solving the state's historic revenue shortfall.
Markell signed the bill at Delaware Park, one of three Delaware racinos that will become the only venues east of the Mississippi River with a legal sports lottery this fall. He was joined by General Assembly leaders and William Rickman, owner of Delaware Park.

January 15, 2008 -- New Hampshire Attorney General Kelly Ayotte today warned New Hampshire consumers that the Consumer Protection and Antitrust Bureau of the New Hampshire Attorney General's Office has recently received a report that consumers in New Hampshire and elsewhere are receiving scam emails which purport to be from the New Hampshire Lottery Commission. November 07, 2007 -- BOSTON – Today, a Dorchester man pled guilty to charges he participated in running an illegal lottery that resulted in hundreds of individuals in the Boston area losing thousands of dollars. Alcides Semedo, age 44, was sentenced by Suffolk Superior Court Judge Elizabeth Donovan to serve 18 months probation and complete 200 hours of community service.
