Tampa Bay Rays Claim Outfielder Nathan Haynes from Los Angeles Angels

03/28/2008, ST. PETERSBURG -- The Tampa Bay Rays claimed left-handed hitting outfielder Nathan Haynes off waivers from the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. To clear room on the 40-man roster, outfielder Rocco Baldelli was placed on the 60- day disabled list (Mitochondrial disorder). Los Angeles Angels Place Four Players on 15-Day Disabled List

ANAHEIM, 03/30/2008 -- The Los Angeles Angels Saturday placed right-handed pitchers John Lackey, Kelvim Escobar, Scot Shields and Chris Bootcheck on the 15-day disabled list. The DL assignments are all retroactive to March 21. This announcement was made by Los Angeles Angels General Manager Tony Reagins.

Lackey, 29, was placed on the disabled list due to a strained right triceps. This marks his first DL assignment of his career. Lackey made one Spring Training start, posting no record and a 5.40 ERA (1.2 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 1 SO). He registered a 19-9 record with two complete game shutouts and an AL-best 3.01 ERA (224 IP - 75 ER) in 33 starts in 2007.    » read more »

ANAHEIM, 03/30/2008 -- The Los Angeles Angels Saturday set their 2008 Opening Day Roster in an announcement made by club General Manager Tony Reagins. Los Angeles Angels Outfielder Nathan Haynes Claimed Off Waivers by Tampa Bay Rays

03/28/2008, ANAHEIM -- The Los Angeles Angels on Friday announced outfielder Nathan Haynes has been claimed off waivers by the Tampa Bay Rays in an announcement made by club General Manager Tony Reagins.

Nathan Haynes, 28, batted .265 (9/34) with six runs scored, a double, triple and four RBI in 19 Spring Training games. He registered a .267 average (12/45) with 10 runs scored, a triple and RBI in 40 games for the Angels in his 2007 rookie season.
