ABC Family Heads to Comic-Con with Stars, Shwag and Sci-Fi Fun

Network to feature “The Middleman,” “Samurai Girl” and “Kyle XY”

Burbank, CA, June 30, 2008 – For the third consecutive year ABC Family will have a presence at the Comic-Con convention in San Diego to promote three projects, “The Middleman,” “Samurai Girl” and “Kyle XY.” From July 23rd – 27th, ABC Family will be in the thick of things at booth #3913 with premium give-aways, Q&A panel sessions with talent and producers, and autograph sessions after each panel.

Here is a run-down of ABC Family’s panel schedules:

Thursday, July 24th
2:00 – 3:00 PM The Middleman Q&A panel with star Matt Keeslar and show creator and executive producer Javier Grillo-Marxuach in room 5AB.

ABC Studios Ranks First Among Studios in Number Of Returning Broadcast Series, with 14

May 2008 -- ABC Studios ushers in another record season with 16 returning series, maintaining its stronghold as the No. 1 studio in returning broadcast series (14, tied with Paramount). ABC Studios productions, including five new series, are scheduled on six networks and in first-run syndication.

ABC Family Announces 2008 Summer, Fall Schedule

Burbank, CA, May 1, 2008 -- Paul Lee, president, ABC Family, today outlined ABC Family’s plans for Summer and Fall of 2008. Scheduled to debut this summer are new original series including “The Middleman” and “The Secret Life of the American Teenager.”

In addition to the summer series, ABC Family will premiere “Samurai Girl,” a special event premiering with six hours over three nights this Fall and has ordered a third season of “Lincoln Heights,” a second season of “Greek,” and a third season of “Kyle XY.” The 11th annual “25 Days of Christmas” event will feature an original movie and special as well as the basic cable premieres of “The Chronicles of Narnia” and “Cars.”

August 21, 2007 (Burbank, CA) -- ABC Family has ordered one-hour drama pilot, “Samurai Girl,” from ABC Studios, it was announced today by Paul Lee, president of ABC Family. Written by Luke McMullen (“Alias”), the pilot for “Samurai Girl” is based on the first novel in the popular series for young adults, “Samurai Girl: Book of the Sword.” Casting will begin immediately and the pilot will be shot in fall 2007.    » read more »
