Hillary Clinton Campaign Unveils 'Hats Off For Hillary'

5/8/2008 -- Demonstrating Hillary’s strong commitment to breast cancer awareness, the Clinton campaign today unveiled its ‘Hats off for Hillary’ drive in Kentucky. The drive, which will take place until May 20, will encourage women across the state to donate their Kentucky Derby hats to charity.

'Street Sense' Wins Kentucky Derby

06 May 2007 -- "Street Sense" has made an amazing charge from 19th place to win the 133rd running of the Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs, the first jewel in horse racing's Triple Crown.

After falling behind early Saturday, jockey Calvin Borel guided "Street Sense" back from next-to-last in the 20-horse field to win the race in two minutes and two seconds. "Hard Spun" was second, two lengths back, while early favorite "Curlin" finished third.

"Street Sense" is the first two-year-old to win the race of mainly three-year-olds since Spectacular Bid accomplished the feat in 1979.    » read more »

Kentucky Derby: Pre-race tests of Kentucky Derby horses all negative

FRANKFORT, Ky. (May 4, 2007) – Blood samples from the 20 horses entered in the Kentucky Derby tested negative for "blood-doping" agents, according to the Kentucky Horse Racing Authority (KHRA).

"The equine industry is Kentucky’s signature industry, and our efforts to craft a new, comprehensive equine drug policy have been undertaken to protect and maintain the integrity of the industry," Governor Ernie Fletcher said.    » read more »
