10/23/2007, KANSAS CITY -- The Kansas City Royals today announced their entire 2008 regular season schedule, as well as their ticket pricing for the upcoming season. The 162-game slate will begin on Monday, March 31 in Detroit, kicking off a six-game road trip that concludes with a three-game visit to Minnesota. Hillman, 44, is currently managing the Nippon Ham Fighters in Japan's Pacific League and will be introduced to the Kansas City media in a 2:00 p.m. press conference on Monday afternoon in the interview room at Kauffman Stadium. » read more »

01 October 2007 -- The Philadelphia Phillies have qualified for Major League Baseball playoffs for the first time since 1993, winning their final game of the regular season over the visiting Washington Nationals, 6-1.
The New York Mets could have tied Philadelphia for the National League East Division and forced a one-game playoff, but they lost at home to the Florida Marlins, 8-1. He is now one of 30 Major League Club nominees for the national 2007 Roberto Clemente Award, which is given annually to the Major League Baseball player who combines outstanding skills on the baseball field with devoted work in the community. Roberto Clemente Day was established by Major League Baseball in 2002.
