The 162-game slate will begin on Monday, March 31 in Detroit, kicking off a six-game road trip that concludes with a three-game visit to Minnesota. 10/19/2007, KANSAS CITY -- The Royals today announced they have reached an agreement on a multi-year contract with Trey Hillman as manager. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed. Hillman, 44, is currently managing the Nippon Ham Fighters in Japan's Pacific League and will be introduced to the Kansas City media in a 2:00 p.m. press conference on Monday afternoon in the interview room at Kauffman Stadium.    » read more »

10/09/2007, CHICAGO -- The Chicago White Sox have announced the hiring of Buddy Bell as the organization's Director of Minor League Instruction, effective November 1.

Bell, 56, spent the last two-plus seasons as manager of the Kansas City Royals after being hired on May 31, 2005. He also managed the Detroit Tigers (1996-98) and Colorado Rockies (2000-02).    » read more »

The New York Mets could have tied Philadelphia for the National League East Division and forced a one-game playoff, but they lost at home to the Florida Marlins, 8-1. He is now one of 30 Major League Club nominees for the national 2007 Roberto Clemente Award, which is given annually to the Major League Baseball player who combines outstanding skills on the baseball field with devoted work in the community. Roberto Clemente Day was established by Major League Baseball in 2002.
