Program Trading Averaged 33.2 Percent of NYSE Volume during Aug. 13-17

NEW YORK, Aug. 23, 2007 -- The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) today released its weekly program-trading data submitted by its member firms. The report includes trading in all markets as reported to the NYSE for Aug. 13-17.

The data indicated that during Aug. 13-17, program trading amounted to 33.2 percent of NYSE average daily volume of 4,498.8 million shares(1), or 1,493.3 million program shares traded per day. This included program trading associated with the August 17 monthly expiration of stock-index options and futures.    » read more »

Wachovia Corporation Increases Quarterly Dividend 14% to 64 Cents Per Share

Federal Reserve Cuts Discount Rate by 50 Basis Points

August 17, 2007 -- To promote the restoration of orderly conditions in financial markets, the Federal Reserve Board approved temporary changes to its primary credit discount window facility.

The Board approved a 50 basis point reduction in the primary credit rate to 5-3/4 percent, to narrow the spread between the primary credit rate and the Federal Open Market Committee's target federal funds rate to 50 basis points.

The Board is also announcing a change to the Reserve Banks' usual practices to allow the provision of term financing for as long as 30 days, renewable by the borrower.    » read more »

The data indicated that during Aug. 6-10, program trading amounted to 36.2 percent of NYSE average daily volume of 5,188.2 million shares1, or 1,880.0 million program shares traded per day.

New All-Time Volume and Message Traffic Records

New York, Aug. 16, 2007 – NYSE Euronext (NYSE Euronext: NYX), the world's largest and most liquid exchange group, today reported record transaction volume in its U.S. cash equities trading operations on NYSE Group exchanges with 5.73 billion shares traded, based on preliminary results. Additionally, the NYSE also achieved new records in orders, trades and quotes.
