DoD Identifies Four Marine Casualties
June 16, 2008 -- The Department of Defense announced today the death of four Marines who were supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.
Sgt. Michael Toussiant-Hyle Washington, 20, of Tacoma, Washington
Lance Cpl. Layton Bradly Crass, 22, of Richmond, Indiana
Pfc. Dawid Pietrek, 24, of Bensenville, Illinois
Pfc. Michael Robert Patton, 19, of Fenton, Missouri
All four Marines died June 14 while supporting combat operations in Farah Province, Afghanistan.
They were assigned to 2nd Battalion, 7th Marines, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Twentynine Palms, Calif.

Indiana National Guard, Army Corps Provide Flood Relief
INDIANAPOLIS (06/16/2008) - Soldiers and Airmen from the Indiana National Guard began returning to home stations Sunday after spending eight days fighting floodwaters in southwest Indiana.
Sixty Soldiers from Joint Task Force-81 will remain behind in the vicinity of East Mount Carmel and New Harmony, Ind., working with local responders to observe the water level at local levees. » read more »

American Red Cross Responds to Floods and Tornadoes in Central United States
Relief efforts underway throughout Midwest, but also in West Virginia
WASHINGTON -- June 09, 2008 -- Storms and heavy rainfall have caused serious flash flooding in already saturated areas of the central United States. In response, the American Red Cross has mobilized relief workers to six states in the devastated areas.

May 28, 2008 -- (INDIANAPOLIS, IN) – Hukill Oil Company, Inc., doing business as Mr. Lubie, agreed to provide refunds to customers who paid for a specific, brand-name oil, but received a different, less expensive product announced Indiana Attorney General Steve Carter.

DoD Identifies Army Casualty: Spc. Joseph A. Ford, 23, of Knox, Indiana
May 12, 2008 -- The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Spc. Joseph A. Ford, 23, of Knox, Indiana, died May 10 in Al Asad, Iraq, of injuries suffered in a vehicle accident.
He was assigned to the 1st Squadron, 152nd Cavalry Regiment, 76th Brigade Combat Team, Indiana National Guard, New Albany, Ind.

DNC Statement on Indiana Voter ID Law Ruling By the Supreme Court
April 28, 2008 -- This morning, the Supreme Court handed down a ruling upholding Indiana's undemocratic and restrictive voter identification law. The Supreme Court acknowledged that "The record contains no evidence of any such [impersonation] fraud actually occurring in Indiana at any time in its history," and acknowledged the law's burden on the elderly, low-income voters and other classes of voters covering hundreds of thousands of Indiana citizens.
