Idaho to Receive More than $1.1 Million from Vioxx Maker Merck

Boise – The State of Idaho will receive more than $1.1 million as a result of a consent judgment with Merck and Company, Inc., Attorney General Lawrence Wasden announced today. Wasden’s office filed a consent judgment resolving a three-year investigation by 30 states concerning the company’s deceptive promotion of the drug Vioxx.

The judgment, filed Tuesday in Fourth District Court in Ada County, will largely restrict Merck’s ability to deceptively promote any Merck product.    » read more »

DoD Identifies Air Force Casualty: Lt. Col. Joseph A. Moore, 54, of Boise, Idaho

May 21, 2008 -- The Department of Defense announced today the death of an airman who was supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.

Lt. Col. Joseph A. Moore, 54, of Boise, Idaho, died of natural causes May 20 in Djibouti.

He was assigned to the 124th Wing, Idaho Air National Guard, Gowen Field, Idaho.

DoD Identifies Two Army Casualties: Jason C. Kazarick, 30 and Michael T. Lilly, 23

April 09, 2008 -- The Department of Defense announced today the death of two soldiers who were supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.

They died April 7 in Sadr City, Iraq, when enemy forces attacked using a rocket propelled grenade.

They were assigned to the 1st Squadron, 2nd Stryker Cavalry Regiment, Vilseck, Germany.

Killed were:

Spc. Jason C. Kazarick, 30, of Oakmont, Pennsylvania

Sgt. Michael T. Lilly, 23, of Boise, Idaho.

Idaho Announces Long-Term Agreement With Bonneville Power Administration

April 9, 2008 -- (BOISE) – Idaho Governor C. L. “Butch” Otter and Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) Administrator Stephen J. Wright announced a 10-year $65 million funding agreement today to enhance fish recovery projects in Idaho.

“We celebrate this historic event and look forward to the next 10 years of stable funding,” Governor Otter said.
