September 10, 2007 -- Today marked the opening of the 2007 bear hunting season in the Upper Peninsula, which includes Drummond Island. Lower Peninsula season will begin Sept. 21.

August 22, 2007 -- The Michigan Natural Resources Commission approved the 2007 waterfowl hunting regulations at its August meeting. Changes from 2006 include hunting season dates, a decrease to 45 days in the Mississippi Valley Population (MVP) Canada goose zones, removal of quotas on the Allegan Goose Management Unit (GMU) and Muskegon Wastewater GMU, a five-bird bag limit for Canada geese in the late season, and a two-bird bag limit for canvasbacks.    » read more »
