07 August 2007 -- Michelle Pfeiffer received her own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in an August 6 ceremony in front of the Hollywood & Highland Center.
The 49-year-old star of such films as Scarface, The Fabulous Baker Boys, and Dangerous Liaisons thanked her mother and father for supporting her decision to become an actress.
Speaking about her mother, she said "She taught me that I could do anything and that I should have a career before I got married." She said her father "taught me that you can make something of yourself if you work hard." » read more »
New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson Announces Appaloosa to be filmed in New Mexico
August 7, 2007 -- SANTA FE — New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson today announced that the Groundswell Films/New Line Cinema production, Appaloosa, will be shot in New Mexico.
The production will be shot in and around Santa Fe from October 1 through November 24 and expects to hire approximately 90 New Mexico crew members and 500 local background actors.
Ed Harris will produce, star and direct. Other principal cast includes Viggo Mortensen and Renee Zellweger. Alongside Harris will be producers Robert Knott, Michael London and Ginger Sledge. » read more »

Paramount Pictures Selects Colorado As Location For New Eddie Murphy Film
Aug. 1, 2007 -- Colorado Governor Bill Ritter announced today that Paramount Pictures’ new film Nowhereland will be filmed in Denver later this year. Nowhereland is produced by Paramount Pictures and Di Bonaventura Pictures and stars Eddie Murphy.
“We are pleased to be hosting this production from Paramount Pictures and we are excited about the producer’s decision to make Denver a major part of this film,” Gov. Lindsay Lohan: Lindsay Lohan Released From Rehab
17 July 2007 -- Lindsay Lohan's out of rehab...and back on the party circuit. The 21-year-old actress completed a 45-day residential substance abuse treatment program July 13, and the following night was seen at a Las Vegas nightclub.
In a statement to Access Hollywood, publicist Leslie Sloan Zelnick said Lohan is now in an outpatient program comprising daily attendance at Alcoholics Anonymous meetings, outpatient therapy, and daily testing. » read more »

'Transformers' Tops US Weekend Box Office
09 July 2007 -- The shape-shifting robots in Transformers morphed into last weekend's U.S. box office leaders. The DreamWorks-Paramount take on the popular line of Hasbro toys took in $67.6 million in ticket sales in its first weekend, according to July 8 studio estimates.
This brings its domestic total to $152.5 million, counting July 2 preview screenings. If those figures hold up, it would give Transformers the largest first-week revenue in history for a non-sequel, topping Spider-Man's $151.6 million total in 2002. » read more »

Animated Film 'Ratatouille' Tops US Weekend Box Office
02 July 2007 -- An animated rat feasted on last weekend's U.S. box office championship. Ratatouille, Pixar's computer-generated tale of a rodent who gets to cook in a French restaurant, topped the Stateside tally with $47.2 million.
This is the lowest opening figure for Disney's Pixar Animation unit since 1998, when A Bug's Life took in $33.3 million. The next five Pixar films, among them Toy Story 2, Finding Nemo, and last year's Cars, enjoyed opening weekends between $57.4 million and $70.5 million. » read more »
Tom Sizemore: Actor Tom Sizemore Sentenced to 16 Month in Jail for Violating Probation
26 June 2007 -- Tom Sizemore has been sentenced to 16 months in state prison for violating his probation in a previous drug case.
California Superior Court Judge Cynthia Rayvis said the 45-year-old actor "abused the privilege of probation" and "needs to be in a lockdown setting." She recommended Sizemore be sent to the R.J. Donovan Correctional Facility in San Diego County for its noteworthy drug treatment program.
Sizemore, whose screen credits include Saving Private Ryan and Blackhawk Down, wore orange jail clothing and didn't speak during the June 25 hearing. » read more »
