Scott Woods has been named Senior Vice President and Managing Director, Germany. Woods, who joins Last.fm from Google where he served as Head of Strategic Partnerships and Business Development, Northern and Central Europe, will oversee the expansion of the Last.fm presence in Germany, the country with the second largest Last.fm userbase after the U.S.

Major Powers Agree on Contents of New Iran UN Resolution
22 January 2008 -- Foreign ministers of the five permanent U.N. Security Council members and Germany said Tuesday they have agreed on the contents of a new sanctions resolution against Iran over its nuclear program. U.S. officials say it will toughen travel bans and asset freezes against Iranian leaders.

NCAA Reinstates Iowa State Basketball Student-Athlete
Wednesday, November 28, 2007, INDIANAPOLIS — The NCAA student-athlete reinstatement staff has reinstated the eligibility of Iowa State University basketball student-athlete Lucca Staiger.
Staiger, a freshman at Iowa State, will be required to sit out the 2007-08 season of competition while being charged a season of eligibility, as a condition of his reinstatement for playing 82 games on a professional team in Germany prior to enrollment at the university.
