The New York Yankees' loss dropped them to seven-and-a-half games behind Boston Red Sox for the American League East division lead, as the Boston Red Sox crushed the Chicago White Sox, 11-1. Florida Marlins Agree to Terms with First-Round Draft Pick, Third Baseman Matt Dominguez
08/15/2007, MIAMI -- The Florida Marlins today announced they have agreed to terms with third baseman Matt Dominguez, their first-round selection (12th overall) in the 2007 MLB First-Year Player Draft. The announcement was made by Assistant General Manager and Vice President of Player Development and Scouting Jim Fleming.
"We are extremely happy to get Matt [Dominguez] under contract and to get him playing in our minor league system," Fleming said. "We look forward to watching his development en route to a successful Major League career." » read more »

08/02/2007, MIAMI -- The Florida Marlins announced today that due to conflicts with the Miami Dolphins and the University of Miami football games on WQAM 560 AM, eight Marlins regular season games will air on 940 AM WINZ. PJ Loyello, Senior VP of Communications and Broadcasting, made the announcement.

08/03/2007 -- DIAMONDBACKS CLAIM CIRILLO FROM TWINS; KIM FROM MARLINS PHOENIX -- The Arizona Diamondbacks announced today that they have claimed infielder Jeff Cirillo off waivers from the Minnesota Twins and right-handed pitcher Byung-Hyun Kim from the Florida Marlins.
Cirillo, 37, was batting .261 (40-for-153) with 2 home runs and 21 RBI in 50 games this season with the Twins. He hit safely in five straight games from June 17-23, batting .600 (12-for-20) with 3 doubles and 4 RBI during the stretch. » read more »
