May 1, 2007 -- CHARLESTON, W.Va. - West Virginia Governor Joe Manchin announced today that his request for a federal disaster declaration in the seven West Virginia counties has been approved by President Bush. This emergency assistance is the result of damage from severe storms, flooding, landslides and mudslides during April 14 to 18, 2007.

May 1, 2007 -- HARRISBURG – With only a month until the start of hurricane season, Pennsylvania Acting Insurance Commissioner Randy Rohrbaugh today reminded Pennsylvanians of the importance of having flood insurance in place to protect homes and businesses.

April 30, 2007 -- CONCORD - New Hampshire Governor John Lynch today urged victims of the recent floods to begin registering with FEMA to find out if they qualify for individual assistance.

In order to qualify for federal flood assistance, citizens must register with FEMA - even if they have already registered with the Red Cross, or other organizations.
