May 8, 2007 -- “Conditions surrounding more than 210 active wildfires in Florida continue to change rapidly. The State Emergency Operations Center has been activated to 24-hour Level 1 operations. Our state resources, including Florida’s fire chiefs and National Guard, continue to assist the Division of Forestry in fighting these fires.

Minnesota Governor Authorizes National Guard To Assist With Firefighting Efforts In Northern Minnesota

May 7, 2007 -- Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty today issued an emergency executive order that authorizes the Minnesota National Guard to be available to assist in firefighting efforts in Northern Minnesota.
