RKO Signs Interim Agreement with Writers Guild
January 25, 2008 -- LOS ANGELES -- RKO Productions, Inc., a subsidiary of RKO Pictures, and the Writers Guild of America (WGA) announced today that they have reached an interim comprehensive agreement.
The company's current production schedule, to be announced next week, includes several original screen projects, as well as the financing, production, and distribution of a number of new versions of classic films from RKO's 1,300-film library. » read more »
Stallone Admits to Using Growth Hormone for Latest 'Rambo' Role
26 January 2008 -- Hollywood movie star Sylvester Stallone admits he used Human Growth Hormone, HGH, to improve the appearance of his body for his latest Rambo movie, and does not think it was wrong to do so.
In an interview with Time magazine, the 61-year-old actor says HGH is not a steroid, and he says everyone over the age of 40 should look into using it because it increases testosterone in the body and improves quality of life.
The latest installment in the Rambo series, which Stallone directed and co-wrote, opened in the United States Friday. » read more »

November 16, 2007 -- SANTA FE — New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson today announced that the Myriad Pictures production, Not Forgotten, starring Simon Baker (Devil Wears Prada, The Guardian, Something New, Sex and Death 101), will be shot in New Mexico.

US Television, Film Writers' Strike Threatens Programming
05 November 2007 -- More than 12,000 U.S. film and television writers are on strike, stalling production of entertainment shows and threatening film production in Hollywood. Mike O'Sullivan reports from Los Angeles, the writers walked out after negotiators failed to reach agreement on key issues.
The first picket lines went up early Monday at New York's Rockefeller Center, home of the National Broadcasting Company. Within hours, picketers appeared outside the production centers of networks and studios at more than a dozen Los Angeles locations, from Disney to Paramount. » read more »

29 August 2007, Washington (By Ray McDonald) -- Owen Wilson has pulled out of his upcoming movie with Ben Stiller while he recovers from a reported suicide attempt.
Variety reports the 38-year-old actor has dropped out of Tropic Thunder, a DreamWorks comedy he was set to begin shooting in two to three weeks. The trade paper states Wilson's role would require a week's worth of filming. Stiller, who is producing and starring in the film, began shooting six weeks ago in Hawaii. » read more »

August 28, 2007 -- SANTA FE — New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson today announced that the Lakeshore Entertainment production, Game, starring Gerard Butler, will be shot in New Mexico.
The film will be shot for 55 days in and around Albuquerque from November 5 through February 5 and expects to hire approximately 182 New Mexico crew members.
