Ford Motor Company's European Auto Sales Share Climbs

Customer Demand Drives Up Ford's European Sales Share In May For Fifth Successive Month

COLOGNE, June 15, 2009 – Driven by enthusiastic customer demand for its strongest-ever range of vehicles, Ford saw its sales market share increase for the fifth successive month in May across its main 19 markets.

Continued economic uncertainty and lower overall volume, combined with political and industry upheaval in some of the company's major markets has not deterred car buyers from choosing Ford's newest models, the Fiesta and Ka, thereby helping to increase the company's market share to 8.9 per cent in May, up 0.2 percentage points.

Ford's year-to-date share was 9.2 per cent, up from 8.7 per cent in the same period in 2008.    » read more »

28 May 2009 -- RGE Energy AG is partnering with BP Solar in planning one of the world's largest solar projects. The large-scale PV installation with over 46 megawatt peak (MWp) will be built in Koethen, Saxony-Anhalt. Around 210,000 crystalline photovoltaic modules with an output of 220 watt peak each will be supplied by BP Solar and installed by RGE Energy AG.

Genzyme Receives Positive Opinion for European Approval of Mozobil

May 29, 2009 -- Genzyme Corp. (Nasdaq: GENZ) today announced that the European Medicines Agency’s Committee for Human Medicinal Products (CHMP) has adopted a positive opinion on the marketing authorization application for Mozobil ® (plerixafor injection).

The committee's opinion will be forwarded to the European Commission, which will make a final decision on the authorization. The Commission has 66 calendar days to act on the CHMP’s opinion.

Swedish Consumers' Energy Use Management Aided By GE Energy Smart Meters

Gothenburg Energy to Install 90,000 GE Smart Meters

COLOGNE, Germany -- 27 May 2009 -- To provide consumers with information to better manage utility costs, Gothenburg Energy has ordered and will deploy 90,000 GE smart meters.

The project will meet a Swedish government mandate, which requires all utilities to have an advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) in place by June 1, 2009. The new meters will provide the utility with real-time data access.

Siemens Opens European Headquarters For Wind Energy In Hamburg

70 new jobs planned at the location

Hamburg, Germany, May 12, 2009 -- Siemens is greatly expanding its wind power activities in Germany and Europe. As part of this expansion, Siemens has now established its European headquarters for wind power sales and project execution in Hamburg, Germany. At the same time, the Bremen location in Germany is being upgraded to European headquarters in the service business.

The new headquarters in Hamburg is starting up operations with about 40 employees. As a result, employees with functions in sales and project execution have relocated to Hamburg from Brande in Denmark and, in some cases, from Bremen. In the medium term, about 70 jobs are expected to be created at Siemens Wind Power’s new Hamburg location.    » read more »
