Second Annual Event Moves to Primetime on ESPN; Forty-Seven Standout Players Already Selected to Participate
April 1, 2008 -- The second annual Under Armour All-America High School Football Game, an annual all-star football competition spotlighting the nation’s top high school seniors, will be played on Sunday, Jan. 4, 2009. The event, an ESPN and Intersport collaboration, is moving to Sunday in primetime as part of a new expanded three-hour window (8-11 p.m. ET) on ESPN. Last year, the event was televised in a two-hour Saturday afternoon window on ABC. NCAA Statement Regarding Potential Secondary Violation Involving University of Connecticut
Friday, March 14, 2008 -- Despite recent media reports to the contrary, the NCAA has not ruled on a potential secondary violation involving University of Connecticut freshman Maya Moore. While the NCAA has worked cooperatively with the university, the institution has not yet filed the appropriate documents necessary for the Association to process this case.
The university has acknowledged that a member of the coaching staff impermissibly arranged for Moore to be granted a tour of ESPN studios and that such an arrangement is not available to the general public.

ESPN MLB Analyst Rick Sutcliffe Diagnosed with Cancer
March 13, 2008 -- ESPN Major League Baseball analyst Rick Sutcliffe has been diagnosed with cancer. A routine test during a physical revealed that Sutcliffe has a treatable and curable form of colon cancer. He will undergo chemotherapy and surgery over the next few months and he is hoping to make a healthy comeback later this year.
