Texas Governor Perry Awards $4.4 Million in Grants to Support Substance Abuse Treatment and Accountability through Drug Courts
Oct. 30, 2007 -- AUSTIN – Texas Governor Rick Perry today awarded more than $4.4 million in grants to 37 drug treatment courts. The grants are awarded through the state Drug Court Program, state Criminal Justice Planning Fund and the federal Byrne Justice Assistance Grant Program, and are distributed by the Governor’s Criminal Justice Division (CJD).

Missouri Governor Announces $14.5 Million Grant to Expand Services for Substance Abuse Treatment
October 2, 2007 -- JEFFERSON CITY - Missouri Governor Matt Blunt announced the state received a three year, $14.5 million federal grant to expand services for Missourians who need help for alcohol and other drug problems.
The Access to Recovery (ATR) grant program offers substance abuse treatment through a system that provides comprehensive assessment, professional treatment on a residential or outpatient basis, and recovery support services from faith-based organizations and other community groups. The recovery support service is a new component that is unique to this grant program. » read more »

Access to Recovery Grant to Increase Client Choice in Substance Abuse Treatment Programs and Recovery Support Services
October 2, 2007 -- (Chicago) – Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS) Secretary Carol L. Adams Ph.D today announced a $13.9 million Access to Recovery (ATR) grant that will allow DHS to expand options for over 6000 people seeking drug and alcohol treatment. The grant is part of a federal initiative to provide vouchers for substance abuse treatment and recovery services. » read more »
